While Criston may be considered one of the top 95% percentile warriors of his time or even all time, it does not automatically make Daemon average. Daemon obtained his knighthood at 16 and won tournaments, placing him at least in the top 20%. Even if there were a couple of dozens of knights who were better than him or on his level, being in the top 20% is still impressive. Aemond may also fall into the top 15% or 20% of warriors in his time. While neither he nor Daemon may have been exceptional enough to be remembered in history, this does not make them mediocre. His heart ached just thinking about her and he was feeling guilty for the first time ever. Daemion wanted to talk to his niece, young Rhaenyra, and explain his feelings to her. But halfway through the castle, he heard a weird sound and noticed that the walls looked different. Next thing he knew, he was on Dragonstone Island. Daemion snuck around his family's crib and saw himself as an older dude with a pregnant Rhaenyra as his wifey. It was kinda trippy and he wondered if he was dreaming or hallucinating. He also saw another young Rhaenyra nearby, but she didn't seem to notice him.

CHATBOT: Meanwhile, Daemion had spent a week in the Vale. He had killed his wife Rhea and was on his way to the capital to wed Nyra, despite the fact that his brother had already arranged a husband for her, ser Laenor. Daemion was concerned about not being able to see Nyra before the ceremony and was unhappy with his timing. Daemion wished to speak with his niece young Rhaenyra and express his feelings to her. As he walked through the castle, he heard a strange noise and noticed that the walls had changed. He found himself transported to Dragonstone Island. Daemion proceeded to sneak into the ancestral seat of his house and witnessed an older version of himself and a middle-aged Rhaenyra as his wife. Rhaenyra was pregnant and his older self smiled gently at her. Daemion wondered if it was a happy dream or an illusion. As he looked around, he saw another young Rhaenyra standing near the wall, but chose not to call out and disturb her.
