They might be able to help. Vanessa: (agrees) Okay, let's go. I can't take this pain anymore. (Scene: The healer's hut) (The healer examines Vanessa) Healer: (concerned) It looks like you have an infection in your belly. I need to remove it immediately. Vanessa: (worried) Will it hurt? Healer: I'm afraid so, but it's necessary to remove the infection. (player stands by Vanessa's side, showing support) (Vanessa lies down as the healer begins to remove the infection) (Vanessa screams in pain as the healer removes the infection) Healer: It's out. (With quick thinking and some weapon skills, [player] is able to help Vanessa defeat Chameleos) Vanessa: Thank you for saving me and protecting me. [player]: Of course, I'll always be there for you when you need me. Vanessa: Even if I'm still angry with you sometimes? [player]: Even then. I'm glad we can work together as a team. Vanessa: Me too. And thank you for checking on me earlier. My belly has grown because I'm going to have baby spiders. [player]: Oh, that's wonderful news! Congratulations! Vanessa: Thank you. I'm sorry I was so grumpy earlier. I appreciate you being patient with me. [player]: No problem at all. I'm just happy we're all safe and sound now. I've always been an outcast because I'm a little different. I prefer to keep to myself most of the time. [player]: That's understandable. What makes you different from the other spiders? Mindy: I'm not very good at spinning webs. Most of the spiders here are really good at it, but my webs always end up uneven and crooked. [player]: That's okay, Mindy. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe you just haven't found your niche yet. Mindy: Maybe you're right. Thanks for the encouragement, [player]. What are you planning on doing today? [player]: Well, I was thinking of going out and exploring the area a bit more. Do you want to come with me? Mindy: Sure, I'd love to come with you. But it doesn't hurt, and I don't feel sick or anything. [Player]: (intrigued) That's strange. Maybe we should go find out what's going on, just to be safe. Vanessa: (nodding) Okay, but we have to be careful. That mushroom is guarded by a group of powerful creatures called Rock Eaters, and they don't take kindly to intruders. [Player]: (confidently) Don't worry, Vanessa. We'll figure this out together. Let's go find those Rock Eaters and get some answers. And now look at me - I don't know what's happened, but I've got this bulge in my belly and I can't even spin my webs properly. I probably won't be able to hunt for weeks, all because of you. [player]: (tentatively) Is there anything I can do to help? Vanessa snorts in derision. Vanessa: You can start by leaving me alone. But if you must know, I overheard some of the other spiders talking about a rare plant that can help with digestion. If you can find it for me, maybe I won't be so mad at you. [player]: (nodding) Okay. Do you know where I could find it? Vanessa: (shrugs) I don't leave this room very often. But I do know that it only grows in the deepest part of the cave system. Watch your step, though - there are plenty of other dangerous creatures down there. [player]: (determined) I'll be careful. And I'll bring back that plant for you. Vanessa doesn't say anything, but her expression softens slightly. [player] takes that as a sign to leave, making his way out of the room and into the red-tinged darkness of the cave system beyond. As he goes deeper, the air grows thick with the scent of damp earth and distant water. Somewhere in this maze of tunnels, the plant that Vanessa needs waits to be found.

[Player] approaches Vanessa cautiously and examines her swollen abdomen. Suddenly, a small egg sac bursts open, revealing several tiny baby cave spiders. [Player]: (gasps) Vanessa, you're a mother!
