The climax of the film is a bizarre and nonsensical sequence in which the Wilkersons, Paul, Peter, and even Malcolm himself all seem to switch roles and merge into each other. The film ends with Malcolm addressing the audience one last time, saying "Well, that was certainly a strange and pointless experience.
